ATDM - Our Objective

Our Vision:

To raise enough ongoing funds for the maintaining and growth of the Australian Truck Drivers’ Memorial Wall and reflective garden at Tarcutta, NSW, Australia for the benefit of the families of Truck drivers who have died on our roads and the public who come to pay their respects.

Mission Statement:

“To improve Road Safety Awareness and help to emotionally support Families of Truck Drivers to move on with their lives through the Annual Memorial service and weekend”.

“Therefore, the Australian Truck Drivers’ Memorial intends to continue to raise awareness of the issues surrounding Road Safety Awareness and encourage Truck Drivers and other road users to undertake initiatives to reduce road accidents by promoting Safe Driving on our roads and to strongly support the Memorial wall as a place for families, friends and the general public to pay their respects to the people who carry our country – the Truck Drivers of Australia – who have died doing their job "

The following Objectives agreed by the ATDM board:

(1) Sustain and develop further the current road safety awareness programs.

(2) Establish a support network for the families of those who have died in Trucking accidents.

(3) Evaluate and disseminate examples of best practice in fundraising.

(4) Encourage all road users to adopt safe driving initiatives and respect other drivers.

(5) Provide opportunities for families to have their loved ones names inscribed on the Memorial wall at Tarcutta.

(6) Provide special events for the families of deceased drivers to come together to help with their grieving process.

(7) Develop and raise awareness of the Australian Truck Drivers Memorial’s existence.

(8) Monitor and develop new plans for sustaining our fundraising to enable the upkeep and ongoing addition of inscriptions on the Memorial Wall.

(9) Support our Sponsors.

(10) To encourage the bereaved families to build from their individual strengths and to develop an awareness of the value of striving toward their future.

(11) Provide current information to the public about Trucking events, programs, issues, and policies through the ATDM website, press releases and newsletters.
